About UsMotherhood can be exhilarating, frightening, joyful, anxiety-producing, confusing, and can also be the most fulfilling yet undervalued job in the world. The Pittsburgh Mothers' Center (PMC) offers mothers an opportunity to learn, to listen, to be listened to, and to participate in service projects for families in the greater Pittsburgh area. The Pittsburgh Mothers' Center is a chapter of the National Association of Mothers' Centers (NAMC). PMC is a consensus-based organization. There is no hierarchy, although there are leadership positions, such as Liaison (fosters communication between the PMC and the NAMC), Chairpersons, Secretary, and Treasurer. PMC members help the center thrive through cooperative responsibility. Center members can use their expertise and talents while trying out new skills. Areas in which mothers can get involved include fundraising, event planning, service projects, discussion groups, and grantwriting, among others. It is a great way to meet new friends and support other mothers while fostering a mother-friendly, child-friendly environment. Learn more about PMC by reading our Frequently Asked Questions.
